Dr. Seuss' birthday is Sunday, March 2nd. We will celebrate his literature works and our reading achievements this week!
Here is our plan: Mixed-Up Monday ~ We will read Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? All day long, we will do wacky things, such as making a certain animal noise or making a funny posture when we want to be called on. Your child can also wear a “mixed up” outfit, if he/she wants! Mrs. Sullivan (Landen’s grandmother) is bringing a fun treat for our first day of Seuss Celebration. Top Hat Tuesday ~ This week, we got to make the Cat in the Hat’s red and white striped hats. Children may wear their favorite hats during class time this day. We will focus on the books The Cat in the Hat and The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. Wacky Wednesday ~ We will wear silly socks this day! They can be mismatched or outrageous patterns, fluffy socks… you name it! We will get cozy in our socks and read, read, read today with Seuss books. We will read Wacky Wednesday and create “wacky worlds” with partners for art. Theodore Thursday with Third Grade ~ I am partnering with a third-grade teacher to bring our classes together and listen to each other read! This is always such a fun time. If your child has a favorite Dr. Seuss story at home, please have him/her bring it to school this day to use with a third-grade partner! Funny Food Friday ~ We will eat green eggs and ham for snack! We will focus on the book Green Eggs and Ham and wrap up our Dr. Seuss celebration week.
